Flood hazard maps, registers of buildings and apartments, flood loss databases: In Switzerland, there are many spatial data, which can be used to estimate directly or indirectly the size and/or probability of flood losses. The project examines the advantages and disadvantages of the different data sources.
In particular the data of property insurers are assessed, data which the flood research has hardly used so far. The findings thereof serve as input for modelling flood and risk hotspots in Switzerland.
